Moon in Cancer

The moon being in it’s own sign, because the moon rules cancer,  is a blessing and a curse. This person is very emotionally in tune, able to nurture others well; while at the same time they may be lost in their emotions, or overrun by them. Cancer is also a water sign, so this increases their emotional charge. It increases aspects of being watery and intuitive, like the moon is. They can definitely utilise this to their advantage, to relate to others, to have self-compassion, and to express themselves creatively. Cancer is a cardinal sign, so they have a need to take actions, and they can do this well if they channel their emotions properly, or express their emotions in an active way (ie talking about their emotions or journaling them).

Moon in Cancers relate to others emotionally, and can be easily influenced by others’ moods. So, it is important for them to realise what emotional states are theirs and not. This can be a strength, as they are often able to sense how others are feeling and also nurture and comfort them. They have an innate need to help others. The moon signifies the mother, so this amplifies their nurturing ability – they will naturally want to take on the role of caring for others. They will feel responsible for their family’s well-being. They often find it easier to understand others than themselves.

Moon in Cancer people are drawn to the spiritual and physiological aspects of life, and these may be areas that they study in depth. They often follow their inner cycles (that coincide with the moon cycles) instead of a strict routine or schedule.

Resonances

Since the moon is in it’s own sign, this means that all the characteristics of Cancer align with the moon. This results in certain things.

First, the feminine aspect of both Cancer and the moon resonate, resulting in a healthy, fertile individual. In Ayurveda this would be called good ‘kupa’ or wellness.

The privacy and inner-self aspect coincides and results in someone internally strong, an inner resilience permeates. They often have a quiet confidence and a strength grounded in the feminine.

The domesticity aspect of the moon results in these natives being nurturing, nest-builders, with nice living conditions. The Moon represents the mother – so the relationship with their mom may be very significant.

The emotional resonance is very strong, as read earlier on. Their emotions run deep, and they have strong convictions. This links to the desire/ acquisitive nature of the moon, where moon in Cancers have deep desires and strive for success. Since they are action oriented, they will get there.

Although it seems perfect with the moon being in its own sign here, it can be risky, it can be like putting all your eggs in one basket. It’s important to have some disonances, because here, so many things are affected at the same time and that’s why we see this struggle for emotional and desire driven regulation. In conclusion, we have to look at the person’s chart to see what other things are affecting the moon in their chart. This will help them pinpoint exactly what areas they need to work on or be careful in.

My speech

Have you ever performed on stage or given a speech?

I remember having to perform twice in elementary and junior high school. The first presentation was a dance routine in elementary, that I did with my best friend. It was to the song “Breakin’ Dishes” by Rihanna. I still love that song, its underrated! Anyway we threw some gymnastics in there and it was just a really cute routine, I wish we had a video of it. I’m still friends with her but we don’t talk too often nowadays. Mostly just see eachother at Christmas!

The second time, in junior high, I had to say a speech that I wrote, to the entire class… It was about to be for 3 classes combined but thank God I was at the end of the cue so I only had to end up doing it for just my class. That made me a lot less nervous. I talked about bed time and how I protested that bed time was too early. What a funny topic to talk about as a strapping 13 year old. Just when you’re beginning to get your own zazz (it’s a word I just read about) and feist. I practiced that speech quite a bit at home and I was able to memorize it. I messed up a little bit, got some sentences in the wrong order but other than that it went quite smoothly. I feel proud now thinking back to my younger self and how capable she was at such a young age!

I really haven’t been on stage much though, but it’s something I aspire to do in the future if I get the opportunity.

What physical activity do you like

The main way I excercise is at the gym. I run or walk on the treadmill, I use the eliptical, or I use the bike. I do interval training of the cardio machines, I find this gets my heart rate up better. Then I do weight training, usually just on the floor. I like doing them standing because it uses more muscles, especially your core. That’s the gym.

I love yoga so much, I’ve been doing it since I was 15. You get a mental health boost as well as a workout so no complaints there.

I really like walking. I find it a great way to connect to nature and clear your mind, or just a great way to spend time with someone you love

Sometimes, I like running outside. I haven’t as much lately, but its an awesome way to kill like 4 birds with one stone : fresh air, nature, exercise, therapy.

And that’s pretty much it. Feel free to comment your preferred forms of exercise.

Moon in Leo

The moon in Leo are likely to have a deep need to approach life from a place of fun. Leo is a fire sign, so they will be vivacious and high spirited. Leo is also a fixed sign, so it will exhibit perseverance and consistency. They are loyal and level-headed.

Because the sun is involved in Leo, their emotions will shine radiantly outward to those close to them, and they may be bull-headed to those they do not care for. This sign is likely to feel passionate and strong emotions as a fire sign. They are very emotionally charged.

They will feel good when they can express spontaneity. They may express this spontaneity through travel, new cuisine, their interactions, and ideas. They are not easy to predict and this is what is admirable about them. They find religion or spirituality add the needed creativity to their life. They may also be drawn to spiritual or religious rituals.

Leo is a very romantic sign, so they need to find ways to express this. The moon in Leo is associated with children, so they may allow their inner child to come out often. Spending time with children is another way they express themselves creatively.

They need reassurance and affection in order to feel emotionally secure. They need approval in order to keep their fire burning. They can be very sensitive.

They are natural leaders and may be able to direct and guide others in many pursuits. Also they are very good organizers, i.e. they may plan parties or be good at organizing the home.

When moon in Leos lead from a place of confidence and fun others will gravitate towards them and want to follow what they are doing. They also have a strong sense of pride and need to do things to the best of their ability.

They must be careful to not let this leadership turn into self-centeredness and aggressiveness.

Resonances and Disonances

One clash that we see in this moon is that the moon is feminine, but Leo is masculine. This is presented as masculinity in the women, and femininity in the men. This is not necessarily going to cause problems. Sometimes it is to their advantage, for example a Leo moon man being better at communicating/ sharing.

The moon aspect of fluctuating and Leo aspect of stability is another dissonance that results in a positive outcome. It often means they will have strong, sudden convictions. They will be very decisive and energetic in their decision making and well as very sure of themselves in their opinions.

The Leo trait of self-sufficiency resonates with the domestic aspect of the moon in that they will have emotional independence. They will be good leaders. However it clashes in that it will make their partnerships hard, because they always need to be right and be the one calling the shots.

The confidence aspect of Leo disonates with the shy aspect of the moon. This means the natives will have complexity around the ability to express their emotions. They will have significant personal depth as they dive down to find the confidence to express themselves properly. They really seek to understand themselves.

A harmonious resonance is the Leo aspect of a leader with the moon aspect of mother. This basically results in them being excellent in leadership positions and they will often assume this role.

Something others do that sparks my admiration

What is something others do that sparks your admiration?

When someone knows a lot about certain topics and they talk to me about them. Usually it’s because they are older and have lots of lived experience as well as studies they can share. It inspires me because I want to be able to bestow wisdom to people younger than me when I’m older. I really admire those who can generate a captivating conversation.

Moon in Capricorn

Moon in Capricorn natives are independent and self-sufficient. They are very practical and grounded due to them being an earth sign, so they will be mastered in dealing with the material realm. They need to remember that they need others and have to find a way to work with them to achieve success. They can go a lot further if they let down their walls and let others in. They need structure and foundation to feel emotionally secure. There is a need to see that their hard work will help others so it’s worth it to share their talents with others. They can get caught up in knowing and doing everything, so recognition for learning and growth is important. This is the sign of work so this makes sense that they have a deep need to undertake responsibilities. They can balance this need for responsibility by channeling that energy into things that give you a sense of freedom, taking on new projects that expands their soul.

At first you may have trouble relating to others and being empathetic towards them. You need to be able to trust someone before you can give your full nurturing side to them. At first you may seem stand-offish but this is because you need to read the person first and understand them to see if they are worth letting into your life. You are very caring but usually just for those close to you. This pragmatism can be a strength, in that you are realistic and level-headed when dealing with others and don’t get bogged down by emotional ties.

Capricorn and Moon Dissonances

The Capricorn traits are that they are tenacious, task-oriented, critical, realistic, and a worker. The moon signifies the mind, opinion, desire, emotion, the inner-self, privacy and change. We will first look at the resonance and dissonance among these traits. The critical nature of Capricorn intersects (and is dissonant) with opinion in that they have a tendency to over-analyze subjective things. This means they can understand emotions objectively, however they are analyzing something they shouldn’t be. And on the flip-side, they under-analyze the important things.

There is another dissonance between the realist Capricorn is and the emotional aspect of the moon. This leads them to being insensitive, with a ‘just do it’ mentality. They can be aloof and unaffected by the emotions of others. They often think about their emotions instead of feeling them. However, they can use this to their advantage which I will touch on further near the end.

Another dissonance is that their work and domesticity get muddled together. They can see their home and friends as simply tasks to check off – they do have a deep sense of duty and nurturing ability when it comes to family though. At work they can feel bored and they need their heart to be deeply connected to their work. Since they are so connected and driven by work intellectually and emotionally, it is hard for them to experience peace and relation. They often counter-act this with intense attempts to find relaxation that are not healthy (ie. drugs and stimulants, extreme sports).

Yet another dissonance is the Capricorn aspect of tenacity adding to the moon aspect of fluctuation. This results in a demanding and perfectionist attitude. They have high expectations and are very ambitious.

Some ways to deal with these dissonances:

  1. Work w/ emotions in an artistic way, see this impartiality as strength
  2. Remember your hard work is appreciated by your family
  3. Learn how to relax naturally (very important)–make relaxing a task on to do list
  4. Finally, need for subconscious reprogramming to release old emotional ties and habits. With this moon sign, there may be a tendency to get stuck, so your fears and restrictive ways may stop you from experiencing true emotion and connection. Tactical or emotional therapies may be useful. Hypnotherapy would work well, and guided sleep meditations to alter that subconscious programming.

What I could do less of:

Definitely eating junk food. That is one thing that I’ve been doing more of lately. (it’s around that time). But even so I shouldn’t use that as an excuse! I’ve allowed myself to indulge and it’s time to nudge myself gently back to health haha. Sticking to healthy eating can be hard but as long as you have grace for yourself when you fall off the wagon, and just get right back up on that wagon again. 🙂 ❤

I do see wild animals

I am living out in the country for a little while and there was a lady dressed in pink who told me ‘there’s a moose over there’. It was across the pond and he/she was so big and majestic and beautiful. I felt so blessed to have seen it and we took some pictures. My cousin later told me to see them is a sign of protection.

Moon in Sagittarius

In this article I will talk about the resonance and dissonance between the sag and moon aspects. The Sagittarius nature involves education, teaching, and that they are lofty. The moon nature involves the mind, the inner self, opinion, desire, emotion, domesticity, and privacy.

The first connection I’ll mention is education connecting to the inner self. This results in a deep need for intake of knowledge. These natives really like information. They love to learn, they love data and they love to hear people’s ideas. There is a conversational axis with Gemini here. They are good at talking, reading, and writing.

The teaching aspect presents as masculine. This is because there is a dissonant harmony of teaching with the moon’s aspect of privacy and feminine energy. This results in someone that can be very dominant in the way they interact with others and give information to them. They like to direct the discussion and are not always receptive.

The third connection is the lofty aspect of Sag connecting to the acquisitive nature of the moon. These go together and result in a sense of big ambition, big ideals. Also the Jupiter sign is present here so this amplifies this energy of big dreams and chasing after them.

The fourth connection is the Sag aspect of broadness and the changeable or fluctuating aspect of the moon. This is a resonance that presents as liking to change a lot. They are open to many ideas and are very liberal. They are not prejudice or too biased, and make good judges. They have a deep need for truth.

Due to it being a fire sign and having to due with emotional nature, these natives are gypsy’s at heart and have a need for adventure. They may not be comfortable in one place for too long. Travel is important to them. They may feel restless at times, due to their need for freedom.

Due to this expansive nature, they also have a deep need to explore other cultures, and one way they can do this is through cuisine. They will like to try many types of food. This is supported by their characteristic of being broad and changeable.

They may have a need to test their own limits, to go beyond what they think is possible for themselves. They use their positivity and focus to get to where they want. They really do have a need to push boundaries in order to find emotional satisfaction. They may be interested in extreme sports!

Some celebrities with moon in Sagittarrius are: Ellie Kemper, Paul Rudd, Liam Neeson, Iggy Azalea, Hilary Duff, Jim Parsons, Judy Greer, Ashley Greene, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Charlie Cox.

Have a wonderful day & thanks for reading.

Moon in… Aquarius!

Aquarius is a fixed sign so in the moon aspect, or the mind and emotions, these peeps will persevere, be stable, and endure.

The Aquarius traits of simplicity and it being an air sign connect to the moon quality of desire resulting in laxity of emotions. There seems to be a need to justify emotions. Often, Aquarius moons are detached from their emotions. At times they can seem aloof. This causes them to have a need for objectivity in decision making, as well as keeping a distance from others so they do not get too deeply involved. It’s not that they don’t care about others. In fact they are often self-sacrificing for their loved ones, it’s just that they help them in a different way, bringing a higher perspective to their families or friends’ issues. They feel they have a duty to someone. They are very capable of relating to others and nurturing them. They will put others before themselves because they know they are needed. It’s very hard for them to abandon someone they care about.

More on this higher perspective. They view the world from an outside perspective, and can feel like the outsider. The Aquarius sign is uniquely humanitarian. So this means they are concerned with the collective and contemplating the world’s issues. They are well researched on this and willing to share to raise awareness. They may devote more time to this than to their personal issues. The Aquarius aspect of being eclectic (interested) is very prevalent, so they will study everything about topics they like.

They tend to focus on what is similar about others, seeing how we can all relate in our wins and issues. They understand that there is a common ground among us and want everyone to see this.

They are drawn to people from different walks of life.

They often feel very different from the environment in which they grow up. This makes them feel unique and separate from others, which is true in many cases. Aquarius moons may reject others and keep to themselves because of this idea.

They would be great working in humanitarian or emergency situations because of their ability to remain detached  and their broad and level-headed world-view. They are also able to sense the future.

Aquarius moon are very good at giving space to other people. They are not loud or over, and tend to be overt. Some are very shy. This is because the Aquarius aspect of humility connects to the moon aspect of privacy, harmoniously. Others find you refreshing because you can remain calm most times.

Above all, Aquarius moons are highly connected to truth and are very wise.
